We offer both weekly and short term rentals , in locations as beautiful as Towamensing, Split Rock, and more.
Our rentals also make great lodging for a bachelorette party! If you can, definitely got to Aquatopia at night. Rooms were fine, a bit dusty. Definitely dark and could use better lightening. One side of the hotel has beautiful views of the mountain. The bunk bed rooms are Camelback are much better than the ones at Kalahari, at a similar additional cost. Camelback has two twin-sized beds on each bunk, and the bottom bunk has enough head room for even teenagers.
Towels were nice and thick, but the bathroom was small with low water pressure. No late checkouts were available, even though check-out time is 11 and check-in time is Besides the waterpark, Camelback offers a bunch of outdoor activities, including the mountain rollercoaster, the mountain slide, zip lines, and a treetop explorer course. Total ride time is about minutes, and that includes the minute ride up to the top on the ski lift for the slide, on the coaster car for the mountain coaster.
Both were fun, but definitely expensive for what they are. The tree explorer course looked like better value. You can get package deals with a discount. It was definitely a nice option to have in nice weather. Not bad, and the indoor ropes course was especially fun. Compared to Kalahari, the buffet food options were smaller, but definitely higher quality and better prepared.
The buffet had nice views overlooking the mountain on one side, so ask for that section if it matters to you. Breakfast buffet was fine, pretty standard fare. Servers were nice, asking if you wanted to a to go cup for your coffee. At least at Kalahari, you get a free sugar cookie to decorate at and some family games and a coloring contest. At Camelback, I saw one costumed character in the lobby waving, and that was it.
Overall, Camelback offers a nice enough waterpark and the other activities make it worthwhile. Well ran park, crystal clear water, friendly staff. We were here mid-week, first week of August. Arrived shortly after 10am to discover the park was already operating.
We went to buy a "speed pass" and the ticket agent told us to save our money, that they were not expecting large crowds or many groups. You are allowed to bring in 1 unopened bottle of water per person - period.
You can go out to the parking lot to eat lunch or snacks and return with a hand stamp. Brown bag it and take a break to go out and eat in the car or at the small picnic area adjacent to the group picnic area. Lines moved quickly with few hick-ups. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. No rude employees - everyone was happy to be working here.
Our teens were kept very busy roaming the park. The rides were well maintained. The concrete does hurt your feet by the end of the day, due to little pebbles and gravel. The water clarity remained clear and free of chloramines - even at the end of the day. Hints: Lockers are expensive - leave valuables at home.
Many rides do not allow necklaces, watches, sun glasses or prescription glasses - leave them in the car or better yet - at home! Bring in your own bottled water. Brown bag your lunch and eat out at the car. Wear water shoes to protect your feet from the concrete and to provide traction on the rides. Slather on the sunscreen - even with slight cloud cover you will burn.
Women - do not wear 2 piece suits. We saw many loose tops and lost bottoms. Go on-line and look for deals. Don't worry if you don't have a printer. Though their website does not say so, they can scan the your. Food is crazy expensive. Stephanie H 7 contributions. Booked a suite for my 4 year old sons birthday May 3 to May 4th. No one ever contacted me to let me know that Aquatopia was not fully up and running.
Several water slides were closed when we arrived. I was also not aware that room service would not be available. As I was traveling with 5 small children we always order dinner in the room this was quite an inconvenience. We were unable to stay and enjoy the water park due to the loud construction noises. Most people left because of the noise. It was unbearable. I emailed customer service to let them know that it was unfair to charge customers the same rate to rent suites when the park was not fully operational.
I sent email 4 times. I didn't even get an automated response. I was overcharged on my credit card I called and was told it was a resort fee. I disputed the charge on my credit card I asked to speak to a manager and was told they would call me back.
My advice stay at Great Wolf Lodge. Outstanding-raters upstate ny 22 contributions. Camelback's superb ski center becomes Camelbeach amazing family water park in the summer now 7 years old and growing. A great destination for families, couples, anyone! The park has a lot to offer for folks of any age including preschool age and older teens-groups often neglected by water parks that pitch to the group as well as adults without children. Although a popular park, no long lines -and when there are any lines at all they move along quickly.
And, guests are free to enjoy their activities without being rushed along. You can stay on your tube on the Nile river for one rotation or for the day-likewise for the wave pool.
Once in the park, the only extra charges are for food, purchases at the gift shop that is also equipped with anything you might have forgotten , and a nominal fee for lockers.
This is one of the few family parks that do not gouge their guests. Everything is reasonably priced-comparable to what you would pay for a similar item at the grocery store or pharmacy. Sandy areas with lounge chairs, indoor and outdoor cafe's. Everything is arranged for the convenience and enjoyment of families. Admission is very reasonable some for the day, same for a bonus night for those who arrive after 4 and plan to stay for the next day, less for return visit, season passes available.
No hidden fees-not even extra charges for their ATM. Staff are not only professional but upbeat, friendly and helpful. Plenty of life guards-all attentive and apparently well trained-even the littlest tike is safe at this park.
Safety appears to be their top priority but it does not interfere with fun! Food ranges from healthy salad, grilled chicken, fresh fruit, vegies, etc to the usual amusement park eats fried, etc -all delicious.
The park is nestled in the mountains --even the parking lots are not visible from the park--but the park is easily accessible-within minutes of major highway and parking is free.
